Windows 10 laptop turns back on and goes into airplane mode

I have a Dell XPS laptop that runs Windows 10. Whenever I put it to sleep, it turns off for a second but then turns right back on with airplane mode. And this is draining my battery each time! I'm not sure what to do here. Can anyone help?

I'm moving from a Mac to Windows :-( . Working from home requires that I save images sent via text. Using my Mac, these images opened in Previewer where I could view, make minor changes if I wanted rarely, and then export to .PDF file. I cannot find anything like this for Windows.  Any thoughts?
