Will I lose my data if I upgrade to Windows 10?

This may be a dumb question but I just need to know for verification. I'm about to update to the latest version of Windows 10 (through the update assistant). Will this affect any of my existing programs or data? Meaning will I lose any of my data? Thanks for all the help!
