We want to send PDF files from our iSeries using a color overlay. We have installed Infoprint Server (evaluation version) for the PDF conversion. We are trying to use an AFP Printer Driver to create an AFP file that we upload to the iSeries to create an overlay.
Our problem is that the quality of the resulting AFP file is poor. We tried AFP300, AFP600 and AFP3170.
Would anyone have a suggestion to create the color overlay?
Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated.
I had a similar problem just in Black and White. One day, I accidentally created the overlay by first creating the .PDF file, then creating (printing) the Overlay directly from the .PDF file. Opened the .PDF file, then did File->Print->AFP3812. I don't know why, but it seem to make a large difference on the quality of the overlay. It even looks a lot better when we FAX it also. Again, this was in Black and White, but you can try it in color and see if it makes a difference.
