Outlook calendar problem

When I rt click in outlook in calendar i am not getting the normal options for Appointment, instead of that I am getting options for New Mail etc, and when I go to the properties of Calendar, I have in the Type:Folder containing mail items, instead of the normal option which says Folder containing Calendar Items. I havent made in any changes. I am using a Exchange Server, dont know what the problem is , can anyone help me with this.

Need more info. Are you using folder view and then right clicking on the calendar item in the tree view on the left? What icon is next to the word ‘calendar’ in tree view? What type of view do you get when you left (normal) click on the calendar? Does it look like a calendar? Is there another calendar folder? Does this problem show up on other mailboxes on the exch server? Was this mailbox migrated from another exch server like 5.5?

    Its the problem with only one users outlook and when rt click it shows items for Mail and Post and not calendar items.

    I'd try removing the user's Exchange account on his/her pc (start from Control Panel, Mail), then putting an Exchange account back on the pc. If that doesn't work, try running Detect and Repair on the user's Outlook (in Outlook on the user's pc, go to Help, then Detect and Repair). Let us know if this helps. csmmis
