I have blocked my working hours in Outlook. So I start at 07.00 hrs and finish at 15.30 hrs. If someone sends me an invitation at 16.00 hrs, and they do not look in the scheduling assistant. Is there a possibility that they receive a message that I am "Out of the Office"?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Depending on which version of Outlook you have, you can set it up where your Out Of Office will send the message during the desired time frame you want.

Go to File, Out of Office (or Automatic Replies in 2013), fill in the button for Send automatic replies and then set the time and the message.

Thanks Harisheldon.  However this is not working for diary invitations.  It only works for emails sent when I am not in the office.  I would like it if the invitor receives a message, something like: "you have sent an invitation but this person is not in the office during this date/time".

To test Out of Office messages in Microsoft Outlook, open your Outlook program. Go to the Folder list and select Inbox. Click on the Tools menu and select Out of Office Assistant. Go to the “Rules and Alerts” option. Click to create a new rule. Select "Start from a blank rule." Select to check messages when they arrive. Click next until you get to the option "This rule will be applied to every message you receive. Is this correct?" and tell it yes. Click to turn on the rule. Click "apply" and then click to save. To test the functionality of your new rule, send yourself two messages from the same address. If Outlook responds with the automatic out of office message, your rule worked.

    Dear JAL2014,

Thanks for your message.  However, I do not want to activate my Out of Office Message everytime I leave work after a normal working day.  i work until 15.30 hrs daily and although I have blocked everything in my agenda after this time, saying "out of office" I do not put on my Out of Office automatic message.

What I would like is if someone sends my an invitation and my agenda is blocked that they receive an automatic message saying i.e. "you have sent an invitation to XXX, however they are not in the office at the specified times".

I hope this is possible.  Thanks in advance for any assistance here.
