Outlook 2016 will not send email with PDF attachment

I noticed something very odd when I'm trying to forward an email in Microsoft Outlook 2016. A co-worker sent me an email with a PDF attached to it. I forward it along to other users but I got this error message: Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients. But without the attachment, the email went through fine. There's nothing malicious with the attachment. Why would it not go through?

Have you tried to send attachment in a plain format? That is without PDF file attachment is it possible to send other kind of file? Also check in Outlook, click File > Options > Mail and make sure the format is HTML.

Moreover, sometimes Safe mode of Outlook might be helpful in this situation. You can open Outlook in Safe mode and try the same task.

Another possibility is there may be restrictions on the attachment or the server as to size limits and possibly others. Check with you network admin to see if this may be the cause.
