According to the 11g upgrade guide:
“Overview of Upgrading Applications:
You are not required to modify existing applications that do not use features available in Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1). Existing applications running against a new Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1) database function the same as they did in prior releases and achieve the same, or enhanced, performance.
Many new features and enhancements are available after upgrading to Oracle Database 11g Release 1 (11.1). Some of these features provide added features and functions, while others provide improved performance. Before you upgrade your applications, you should review these new features to decide which ones you want to use”

Upgrading Your Applications
I just had a project where we ran in the following 4 issues during the migration from Forms 10g to 11g:
1) run_report was no longer working
2) report calling in 11g requires full URL – in 10g this was not mandatory and we had to adjust the calls
3) 11g specifies the name of the report -server as part of the weblogic configuration and we had to adjust this within the forms
4) Weblogic is more complex with regards to directories where forms/reports relevant files reside. In case these paths had been hardcoded we had to change those…
All in all we performed these steps in a few days by utilizing a tool to search and replace the effected code.
