We have a WAN link running 100Mbps with Netgear GSM7328s switches at each end, this carries traffic between our main site, and our DR site, which also has our primary internet link as it's located in the same hosting center as our ISP's kit.
Nightly cross-site backups swamp the link, and this has caused problems by throwing off any RDP users, or at least making it very slow, packets appear to be dropped.
As the users are upset, I get it in the neck!
Can I set up QOS to provide either a guaranteed bandwidth or provide a priority for RDP traffic, or as an alternative reduce the priority of the backup traffic to a priority level than other traffic on the link?
Using Backup Exec at the moment to link to remote agents on the servers and the media servers, some of which are at the other end of the WAN link.
Netgear's notes are simply too thin to enable me to work out what to do.
Any help would be appreciated.
