How to not delete images in highlighted Microsoft Word 2010 documents

Our company has a template in Microsoft Word 2010 that we use all of the time - our company logo is a part of the header too. Now, when I'm trying to highlight text, it keeps including the logo image too and I keep deleting it by accident. Would there be a way for me to not include the image when I'm highlighting text? Or can I lock it so it can't be modified at all? Thanks!

If there is other thing in the template you are deleting but still want the logo, I would create another template with just the logo and any other thing that is constant, like a footer.  Other than that if when you are selecting text for deletion, to prevent “over” selecting , try zooming in on the document before selecting the text to be deleted.

You can try this trick, first select a word/words/line except image(s), when it is selected, press/ hold down ctrl key and then select word/words/line one by one excluded the image(s). Or you can make a copy the same file, and do whatever you want, like copy all texts then paste in an another page/ word. Then you can get texts only on the newly created word document.
