One possibility would be to make sure that the duplex and speed settings are hard coded to match the switch port. But more likely than not it would probably be a Network interface card issue or the cable.
Have you tested the equipment and cable? I use a standard network tester to test the cable then I check the switch by connecting two ports together including the one that might be faulty. If it is a managed switch I monitor the ports as well. If all else fails move it to a different port switch the cable and make sure the duplex settings are the same on both side.
