“Can u give me tips and guidelines on how to share a Dialup connection with Dlink Wireless DSL Router using Xp pro as :- ”
Which of these two connects directly to your modem?
I’m assumming your XP pro box does this… If that’s the case, make sure you have the XP box set up for ICS (Internet Connection Sharing). Have your router act as a normal client when hooked to the XP box. Btw, the XP box will need an ethernet card. You’ll also need a crossover cable (instead of a normal cat5/6 cable) to connect XP box and router.
Using your configuration interface (usually a web interface for these DLink thingies) for the router make sure you have it set up to either use static or DHCP addressing (if static, it must have the proper ip addressing scheme set up for it)–not dsl or any other isp connection.
Next, at the router, you’ll set up a LAN IP address range. Your best bet will be another Class C range and you can use 192.168.2. Have all the workstations connect to this router using DHCP.
That should do it. Come back if you need more help.
