Balan is having a problem when trying to restore the SAVSYS from his current production machine (9406-820) at V5R2 to the Disaster Test machine (9406-s30). After he installed the LIC and initialiazed the system, it halted at B6005121. Do you have any ideas on how he can solve this problem? -- Michelle Davidson, editor, Search400.com

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Our Company just released a new product for AS/400 Backups (Disk-to-Disk). Althought this product will not backup/restore SAVSYS it could enhance your backup/restore process for production and DR with many other benefits. 4 x faster than tape with average compression of 8-1, instant online cataloging with point/click to restore files etc.

Check the website and see if this will help and let me know.

First and foremost, I assume since he has 2 machines he has maintenace with IBM. Call them with that SRC code, they will take care of him. Also, he should upgrade OS to V5R3..

As per IBM website, RECOMMENDATION: Apply LIC PTF MF30308 for 520. The system will display SRC B6000103 or B6005121 during ipl. System fails during upgrade from r510 to r520 with srcB6000103 and/or srcB6005121 and/or while at r510 the system goes into a system hang when a PWRDWNSYS restart *YES is issued with 5033, 5034, 5035 migration towers attached. Model 820 with f/c2437 or f/c2438 are candidates for this. Problem Conclusion This will prevent the display of SRC B6000103 or SRC B6005121 found on panel during IPL. Code patch for the code upgrade from v5r1 to v5r2 on a 820 system. Temporary Fix ********* * HIPER * ********* PTFs Available R520 MF30308 3077
