I was wondering if I could have 2 VP MySQL servers and one SQL database located on a block storage volume. Then I can mount the same volume on both servers reading and writing to a singe database so I can have two VP MySQL machines access and running one database. Thanks

What is a "VP MYSQL server"? I can think of a couple definitions for "VP" that might relate to remote database.

Why do you have "PostgreSQL" in your question title but you don't mention PostgreSQL in your question?

What is a "SQL database"? (Is that how PostgreSQL is involved?)

Are you asking if two MySQL instances can access the same "database" concurrently? For read/write access or will it be read-only?

Sorry All good question. I wrote the post very late last night.
I have a new web project
Part of this project I will have a customers dashboard were it will hold all the customers user information. Just pretty much account information, Name, address, company name, social media information etc.

I am not sure what database I should use ? MySql or PostgreSQl.
I think both would work just fine.

I would like to have two VPS not dedicated server instances and only one database on a block storage volume. I would like both instances to do read/writes.

Is that possible? or do I have to have a master / slave setup. I don't mind having two databases, If I have two databases I want to be able to read/write to both but have the same data in each.

I guess the best practice for redundancy would be two databases.

I hope this help with what I am looking for.
