My USB pen won’t properly go in.

My USB pen's silvery bit (don't ask me what the technical stuff is, I have no idea), is not going into any USB port whatsoever, I've tried many, because for some reason it keeps going down into the holdy bit. I have to pull it out of it, not completely, but when I try to put it into a port, it just goes back down again. I can't access it whatsoever. It will go into the port, but not enough of the silver bit goes in, because it goes back down. This has all my files for college on it. What do I do?

You may have damaged either the USB Drive or the USB hub that the drive fits into.  Have you tried inserting it into another USB Hub (port on the machine)?  If it goes into a different one without any issues, then you have a damaged hub on the machine.  If it still has issues upon inserting into a different HUB on the machine, then the drive (USB Connector) itself is damaged.  It is possible that you might be able to use a USB Extension cable to attach the drive to the machine and not inserting the drive into the machine.  You could also take the drive to a computer repair place and see if they can copy the files off the drive to another one for you.  In any case, I would get a new USB Drive because I suspect that the one you have is damaged.

I agree it sounds like either the drive or the port on the computer is damaged. Try the suggestions above. They are probably going to be your best bet.
