What symptoms are there that leads you to ask this query. Is you phone behaving abnormally/ acts like strangely opening or closing apps/ sending text messages by itself and others. Please come back with more details.

But come to think of it, it could depend on how amateurish a takeover is. And if it can be easily determined, then a "scan" probably isn't needed.

When I try a to use it the screen flashes rapidly. It takes it a few seconds to stop. My settings arevalways changed, bluetooth always on. I did a bug report but dont understand it. Had alot of "root" words and I haven't rooted it. My device info. Once said something about a remote controlled device, and click listener. At times my apps dont recognize me and I have to sign in again. My google personal assistant(downloaded from play store) will repeat stories as if the phone has been restored to a certain spot.

You may have downloaded a bad app. Do you read the list of things some apps want access to? You may have just clicked accept and gave the app full access to your phone. If they want to many permissions, DO NOT give them the access.

There are antivirus programs for some mobile OSes.

AVG has a mobile edition for Android. You might want to give it a try.

Adding (or maybe 'attempting to add') any AV app now is possibly too late. Best would be a full reset. Start from scratch with a cleaned device. Then add AV. Then be sure only to install from the official store.

Either you have to do a soft reset or hard reset to work it properly. Although I am always against any type of format/reset in case of an emergency. If you are not aware all of these things, carry your mobile to the nearest service center/ an authorized repairing center and the persons of the center will help you. But tell them to take backups and detach sim card or memory card before doing the all. Assuming the phone  is still in a stage to take backups.
