Cannot hear MOV files

Good day. I have recovered some MOV files that are playing green or scrambled picture but I can't hear the sound very clear. I tried WMP, QuickTime player and other but will not play. Can you help please?

I have had good luck with VLC as well for playing videos. It may be possible the MOV file was converted from another format and got corrupted. This is often the case when people try to rip a copy of a DVD/Blu-Ray disc and convert the file to another format to reduce the file size.

    Generally, once it is damaged, means, the hope is very few. However, you can try any 3rd party tool to repair them. If you are not going to expense, you can try with VLC media player. Open VLC, select media, then choose convert or save. Now follow on screen instructions. Or you can rename them in .AVI files (before doing that, keep the files in another place/copy to another place, and from VLC player, select preferences, then select input or codecs, now click save and select the option always fix next to repair AVI files. But before doing that, must take backups of all your .mov files.
