Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You need to be more specific on what you want to monitor.
Is it CPU%
Is it Run time
Is it DB I/O
etc.

Whew...this is a loaded question. What are your current practices? Are your monitoring goals due to performance issues, job abends, or merely to monitor what is processing on your system? My system operator's continuously monitor for any performance issues...there are several ways of doing this. Automatic notification is also set up for any job abends. Can you provide more detail? TIA

I'll add one more request for additional information. Monitoring jobs can mean many different things. We need to know what mean by your question. Do you want to monitor jobs by watching them with commands such as WRKACTJOB? Do you want to monitor jobs for security violations? Do you want to monitor for too much CPU or disk usage? Do you want to monitor for large index builds? For inefficiency? For infinite loops? Or for something else? This is a very large area that may involve system operators or system programming or application changes. It may involve dozens of APIs or commands, depending on what you want to monitor. Or it might simply mean you want to start a couple iSeries Navigator monitors from your PC. Please say more about your question. Tom
