Migrating Sybase Database on Sparc to SAP ASE on Linux X86 best practice

We have several Sybase databases running on old Sparc servers that we are migrating to SAP ASE running on Linux x86 (Red hat). Aside of the endianess issues from migrating to different architectures we are experiencing challenges loading the data to the SAP ASE databases. The issue are the indexes that take an enormous time to allow the data to be loaded. Is there a way or more specifically a best practice to do this more effectively? I recall when working with Oracle databases while back that there was an option to disable the indexes, load the data and then enable the indexes in validate mode which sped up the process considerably. Is there such an option available on Sybase to SAP ASE? Thank you in advance, Kind regards,
