Microsoft Outlook 2016: What happened to the ‘eye’ icon for my boss to delete invites I’ve responded to?

I am set as a delegate for my boss and his meetings requests also go to my inbox. It used to be that when I respond, the invite shows an 'eye' icon in his ibox he can click on that shows I've responded and deletes the message from his inbox. Since we've upgraded to 2016, it's no longer there. Is there any way for the meetings to auto-delete, or bring back the eye icon, when I've accepted them on his behalf from my inbox?

So, for some reason it won't save my updates/ spelling corrections to my question above:

*We would like to find a solution for my boss to not have to manually check/ delete the meetings requests after I respond to them.  Anything that would cause the invite to auto-delete from his inbox after I respond from the copy in my inbox would be ideal.  Also, we need to keep the invites going to both our inboxes, not just mine.

    Thanks
