Why would you want both? I don't think there would be an issue but I never tried it.

Just wanted to kick the tires on LibreOffice and see how it worked

w/o having to uninstall my MS Office Suite. I have them both installed on a 1 TB hard drive and it has crashed a couple of times since this morning. But that could be just this sorry windows 10 Pro!

    Thank You,

    ToddN2000

I keep an old computer around just for testing new software I may want. I want to start playing more with Linux but don't want to have to do the dual boot system. Much easier wiping my old i3 laptop and doing a fresh install there. I can understand wanting to check out your other options like LibreOffice. Mainly because open source can be easier for those on a budget. Microsoft products can be costly and their track record needs a lot of improvement in my opinion.

As long as you don't expect both products to handle the same file types automatically, there will be no conflicts. I've never seen both installed on the same system, but be aware that installing LibreOffice once MS Office is already installed might cause Word docs, Excel spreadsheets and other files to be redirected to LibreOffice. You might need to change the associations back to their original settings.

Also, if you have reasonable experience with MS Office apps, the matching LibreOffice apps can seem more difficult simply because you'll need to learn a few new ways to do things. It will take some time for many of the differences to fade.

Yes I understand what you are saying. I am learning a few things.

Seems that Microsoft is going in the way of discontinuing support for all of their earlier versions of MSO. They are pushing for you to purchase a 1 year subscription for $$$$$$ per year use.

I do not have that kind of money. I am disabled and only make a small disability check each month.

    Thanks'

@Scanner1144: I hear your plight. I still use Office 2010 myself at home and will stay with that until I can no longer use it. I do not see that happening in the near future. When it does I will probably go to Open Office. Monthly subscription services seem to be the wave of the future as it's a constant revenue stream for the vendor. I have not bought an Office product in about 6 years. That means they lost out on 72 monthly payments.

I HONESTLY BELIEVE THAT IS WHY THEY ( MS ) CAME OUT WITH THIS PIECE OF JUNK THEY CALL WINDOWS 10. I HAVE PROFESSIONAL. IT IS SO THE CAN MAKE MORE REVENUE OF THE BACKS OF HARD WORKING PEOPLE AND THOSE IN THE IT BUSINESS AND THOSE WHOM ARE LIKE I, THAR SERVICES AND REPAIRS COMPUTERS. MAYBE ONE DAY SOME SOMEONE WILL COME OUT WITH A OPERATING SYSTEM THAT IS FREE. I HAVE MORE TO SAY , BUT I CAN'T SAY IT ON THIS OPEN FOURM. I USE POLICE SOFTWARE IN ORDER TO OPERATE 6 DIFFERENT TYPES OF RADIOS. THE SOFTWARE FOR EACH IS NOT CHEAP, AND THE RADIOS, WELL THE ARE EXPENSIVE!!! MS SUCKZ BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY ARE HEADED. SOMEONE WILL OVERTAKE THEM ONE DAY!! MS IS ONLY HURTING THEMSELVES IN THE LONG RUN!! I HAVE 12 WINDOW UNITS THAT I AM GOING TO CHANGE OVER TO MACS AS SOON AS I CAN. KEEPING ONLY TWO ADDITIONAL WINDOWS SYSTEMS.
