Technically speaking, what are the major differences between Microsoft Lync and enterprise video conferencing?  We currently have 19 end points and utilize an off prem bridge service for multipoint (4 or more participants).  I have been tasked with identifying the major differences if we were to begin utilizing MS Lync instead.  In many cases there are groups of people at each site.

The major differences between Microsoft’s Standard Lync and Enterprise Lync conferencing tools, in addition to price, are that the Enterprise edition allows for multiple video streams in a single conference, the ability to initiate ad-hoc application sharing between callers, and the ability to schedule web based conferences. While the Standard edition allows for unlimited users to sit in on a conference call, Enterprise allows them all to interact via both video or VOIP calling.
