This is probably an easy question to answer but here I go. I'm a teacher and my students enter data into an Excel spreadsheet. But every single time, the value they put in changes. For example:
2.14 changes to 2
How can I format it in a way that it keeps the numbers behind the decimal point?

From Office 2007 onwards, click Home tab Move to Cells group; choose Format and click the arrow next to it. Then click Format Cells, you can get the Format Cells pop up window. In the next dialog box, go to the Number tab, click to highlight the Number in the Category box, and then type a number in the Decimal Places box. Click OK to close. Keep in mind, After selecting cells, you can click the Increase Decimal button/ Decrease Decimal button directly in the Number group on the Home tab to change the decimal places.
