Hello I am an iMac user and I recently purchased and Rockville RCM Pro Microphone that uses a Phantom 48V power source. Every time I plug the 3.5mm TRS output cable into the port on my computer, the computer registers it as an output (headphones) and not as an input (my condenser microphone). How can I get the iMac to realize that it is indeed a microphone? I believe the problem stems from the Jack being a TRS cable and since that is common for headphones, it registers as such. I tried using my RØDE TRS to TRRS adapter and I can OCCASIONALLY trick the computer into understanding it is a microphone and have been able to use the microphone to record a couple of times. However no sound is produced from the computer speakers while the microphone is plugged in. I had no problem using my USB Blu Snoball microphone with my computer, but this one is giving me so much trouble. PLEASE HELP!
