I'm using MS Outlook 2007 on Vista with a 3rd party mailing service on a POP3 Account without Exchange Server. I've been using it for abt a year without any issues. Today morning suddenly when I tried to open my Sent Folders it gave me an error message `The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook.' I've done that and even restarted my system, but still cant access my Sent folder. Can anyone help me on this.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Sounds like you have a corrupted .pst file. Try running scanpst.

If scan PST does not work then you will try a third party tool like SysTools Outlook Recovery, PCVITA, and Recovery Pro etc.
Thanks & Regards

For messages in the Outbox, it is probably one of two things. Your Outlook is Off-line. Check the file menu. Uncheck Off-line. Or the e-mail address of the person you are sending to is malformed. Typically, the address will include the person's name in quotes in front of the address. Outlook thinks this is part of the e-mail address. Delete the address and manullly type it in. If you have the name in the dropdown list, delete it.

There could be several possible reasons for this error as any change in the mail account antivirus application false mail server client Through some of the easy steps you can get rid of this issues. First you need to disable your antivirus application causing troubles. Next is for verifying the account settings. If the problem still persists then you can run scanpst.exe windows 7 the inbuilt utility.
