Meltdown and spectre vulnerabilities, have they been found in the wild, or is it just POC still? Is it more hype than risk...like Y2K?

These are basically hardware vulnerabilities. Is your system affected by them? If yes, what issues are there? What problems are you facing now? Is there an antivirus installed? Please provide more details.

First, Y2K held a lot of risk. Many professionals spent time over the span of years cleaning up what was needed. (I started on it in the 1970s.)  The fact that it passed relatively smoothly only demonstrates how successful the effort was. And without a lot of hype far in advance, many organizations wouldn't have authorized the amount of work that was done.

Regardless, Meltdown/Spectre seem both to be beyond POC status.
