Can I actually scan all of the content on my Android device's internal storage without damaging it? I'm afraid there's a virus and I'm trying to run a malware scan of the entire storage. Thanks!

I guess that would depend on the specific scanner your are trying to run, which was not mentioned.

A fake security scanner could intentionally damage your phone.

Also, depending on the type of malware, the results of any scan can't be guaranteed. That is especially true for any "scanner" added after infection. It's also more true of infections introduced from sources other than the standard app stores for the device.

What symptoms are you having that make you think you may have a virus? It may be something else.

I can't imagine it will damage anything unless files are removed or corrupted. This would be a good question for your anti-malware vendor after you identify what your device may be infected with.
