An IMAP Server Alert means that the message it is alerting you to has been corrupted or damaged on the server. The alert will include the message number and an error code. In order to fix the error, the message needs to be deleted to prevent further corruption and loss. To find and delete the message, the Outlook user can view each message and locate the corrupted message in a small batch of mail, or for larger batches, isolate the newest messages into a temporary folder. On the IMAP account, log in via webmail, and delete the bad messages from the IMAP inbox, then permanently delete them from the trash folder. Then, return to Outlook to move the original messages back to the inbox.
