Lotus Notes 8.5.1 Mail In Database not Displaying Emails

Tags:

Hey guys. We created a Mail In database however the inbox is displaying empty although the file size is around 12 MB in the Physical size within files section and doesn't show any received emails.
We followed the tutorial here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzpVD7S7hSE
to the letter, and still no luck.
Any help as to why this would be amazing help.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

First, 12MB is not an unreasonable size for an empty mailbox in Notes, depending on the template selected.  So, that doesn’t really tell you anything.  To see if the mail file has any mail in it, bring up the properties for the mail file (Alt-Enter in Notes), go to the second tab, and check how many documents it says are in there.

If there are zero documents, try sending a piece of mail to the mailbox.  If there are still no documents, my next question would be “did you create a mail-in database document in the address book?”

Check "All Documents" in your DB - are there any received emails there? (DeliveredDate property should exist.) If not, your database is not receiving mail - perhaps there is no document in the NAB pointing to your database.

If documents are coming in but not showing in Inbox, then check the design - there must be one Folder with the name ($Inbox). Sometimes there are two - because of a quirky Design Refresh or something - and that messes things up.
