SQL statements
I am looking for instructions or reference to instructions on how to compile a set of SQL statements into an executable file to be submitted as a scheduled batch file. Any thoughts?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I would go the route of creating a SQL stored procedure and then use the SQL Server Agent to schedule the job. It looks like this may be a cleaner process.

If you could provide more info and what the SQL is doing and how often the batch job is to run we can give a more detailed explanation.

We need to see what the statements are. Depending on what the statements do, it might not be compiled at all but simply executed as a 'script'. Or it might fit to be compiled as a stored proc and called. Or the statements might be compiled as the basis for an embedded SQL program. Or the statements might be executed as part of a SQL CLI function. There is no exact "compile SQL statements to submit to batch" function.
