Hello experts, I'm using SQL Server and I'm wondering if there's somewhere that my attempted login connections are stored. Is there an external log file for this? Thank you.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

You can enable connection logging. For SQL Server 2008, you can enable Login Auditing. In SQL Server Management Studio, open SQL Server Properties > Security > Login Auditing select “Both failed and successful logins”.

Make sure to restart the SQL Server service.

connection attempts should be logged into SQL’s error log.
