If an administrator has implemented two caching proxy servers on a network, what is the best way to aggregate logs for these? Would syslog be better than logging to a network share?

Generally speaking, this is personal preference. Is there a larger system that needs these logs, i.e. a SIEM or outsourced managed security services that needs them? What are the other business requirements? Many people log for the sake of logging but don't really do much with their logs. This can create more problems than it solves.
