A PC user sent me a video project in a LNK file that she wants me to view. I'm on a Mac. Is that possible?

    A .LNK file is a local shortcut in Windows. You received a shortcut that works on your friend's PC, but it's unlikely you can make any use of it at all.

    If the file had been uploaded to some network server that you could access or if the PC user has the video project in a directory that is shared (and you can access that share), then you have a reasonable chance of getting to the project. But the .LNK file can simply be thrown awat since it's useless to you. You'd need a URL rather than the .LNK file.

    First of all .lnk files can only be opened on windows OS. .lnk files are links to the actual file that is located on same OS. And in general, for enhancement, people makes a shortcut for the same file/folder/ applications on their desktop. Might be she just copied the .lnk file and sent to you. Request her to send the original file (video project) from original location. Sometimes, virus might be the cause to create this types of files.
