Our department just got several Linux LVM volumes and we recently noticed that fdisk reports that many of the disks are showing as partition type 83 and not 8e. Would this be an issue for us? Thanks!

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Seeing that 83 is Linux and 8e is Linux Logical Volume Manager (LVM), you should have no issues with it because they are both in the Linux format.  So no, there is nothing to worry about.
