Linux: Command to find largest files and folders

Hello ITKE experts! On Linux, does anyone know of a command that would list the largest files and folders on my machine? I'm looking for the top 5 / top 10. Any help would be appreciated.

Type the following command at the shell prompt to find out top 10 largest file/directories:

# du -a /var | sort -n -r | head -n 10

    Try this one,

    find . -printf '%s %p\n'| sort -nr | head -5

    you can change the number as your wish.
