Laptop will not stay connected to Wi-Fi

I'm starting to get really annoyed with my Wi-Fi / modem. When I'm on my laptop, I stay connected to the Internet for roughly an hour and then it disconnects all of a sudden. When I try to reconnect, it says: Cannot connect to this network. I restart the modem and it works for an hour and then goes off again. I have to restart it several times a day. I've even tried to connect to a public Wi-Fi and it happens. What's wrong here? This is an Asus laptop.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

I had the same issue a few years back with my DSL provider. What they ended up doing was send me a new modem. Apparently because my DSL modem was like 9-10 years old it may have started failing randomly with the connection to the router. Even now with cable internet I still have an occasional problem with tablets dropping off the internet. It may be to dead spots within the house not getting a strong enough wi-fi signal.
