It seems to be our day for a lot of interview questions.

Multi-member files are rarely used today.

Use of join files is also being overshadowed by SQL.

    Answer is: Yes, with care.

Yes you can, but remember Join  files cannot be updated. The SQL alternative is probably more effective.

It can be done, but there are other more efficient ways like SQL.

Not sure if SQL is good for this, and not even sure if DDS can work. More needs to be known.

First, how does "multimember" fit into the question? Is the JOIN LF expected join all members of PF1 and PF2 together? If so, how many members are there? Do the members change, e.g., a new member each month?

Then, is it a keyed LF? It needs to be, depending on how "multimember" fits in.

Basic answer is 'yes' for the question, but actual requirements can turn it into 'no'.
