I have bought a laptop with no thunderbolt and wanted know if I can connect an external GPU to the laptop with external thunderbolt and will it work?

    More info about the laptop is needed; but if it has a USB type C 3.1 gen 2 port, it should be possible to create a Thunderbolt port.

    You can check the manual and ensure that an adapter will work. You can get help from Asus's Helpdesk.

    In general, no, a USB type C adapter won't work. It won't make the port work as an actual USB-C 3.1 gen 2 port.
