So I went on the run menu and typed msconfig. I went and clicked boot then advanced options. When I tried changing the number of cores, it only showed 1 instead of 4. When the last time I tried, it had 4 then I changed it back to 1 then restarted my laptop. The next time i tried changing it, it showed only 1 number of cores.I really need help please someone.
Generally MSCONFIG is a Windows utility to configure Boot options & other settings. Assuming this is Windows OS. Also it seems that, the cores means the number of processors. While you seen 4 cores last time, and now it showed 1.
Is there any system utility that you uninstalled recently? Have you tried the same in Safe mode? When you saw it last time, is the number correct?
Check the actual configuration of your laptop with correct make/ model.
