Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

According to the definition, I found it sounds like it should keep you busy.

The purpose of IT governance is to align IT investments and priorities with the organization’s strategy and goals, prioritize and manage requests for IT services that optimize returns to the organization, manage major risks and threats proactively, ensure responsible utilization of resources and assets, and improve IT organizational performance.

What are your current duties? Maybe you are being held back from certain aspects due to unknown reasons.

As you did not mention your qualifications etc. and asked for IT governance, here is a good article that can help you: https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/dec07/mueller_phillipson/index.html

Have you thought about tagging along with your security and compliance teams? What would be a *great* place to start. SearchCompliance.com is also a good resource for IT governance.

    Best of luck!

Another security resource that you might consider perusing is on my website. I've written and recorded – pretty extensively – for TechTargert and others on compliance and careers. Check it out here:

If you are working in a firm, the responsibilities can be given by your employers. You can not take without their permission or approval. Whatever you are doing now, this is your duty to do the job with full satisfaction.
