When a user runs the macro on the incorrect screen format. The session locks up. How can I check to verify the SendKey was successful?

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

If you are just recording keystrokes and playing them back, that is the fundamental flaw with them. If you are off 1 position or on the wrong screen there is nothing to stop it from adding bad data or worse. You may want to look into other options that can do things like determine the screen before the macro is run.

Have you tried even to record macro? Does it work? As you mentioned, one user, you can try to test in on someone/other user's system and check what happens.

In my experience, macros just start playing back the recorded keystrokes. There is no logic or anything preventing a user from playing a macro on the wrong screen.

Is there any way to prevent the session from locking up?

Does the screen just freeze because of invalid data or are you getting a halt/error on the job? Usually if bad data is entered into a field all you need to do is hit the reset button (left CTRL?) Does this not work?
