Is there any default performance variations between Scheduled Job & Manually submitted job?

I have a job. The job will be run everyday as a scheduled job. The job is taking just 3 to 7 minutes to complete it's run. If I submit the same job manually, it is taking more than 2 hours. I want to know the reason. Can any one help me on this?
Note: Both jobs are having run priority as 50 & time slice as 5000. "used CPU%" for Scheduled job is less than 100. But, when I submit the same job manually, "used CPU%" is started increasing for less than 100% and it crosses 100%.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

Running manually, it may be conflicting with file usage by interactive users if this is being run during business hours. There could also be record locks it has to deal with for example. It would also be fighting for system CPU resources with any ASYNC jobs you may have that run all day until they are ended. If you have this scheduled to run off hours there is less likely to be any bottle-necks in the processing.

It looks to me a very big difference between the 2 jobs in time run. Is it submitted using the same Subsystem, Job description? Does it run over the same data base? Does one of the jobs show up lots of Job Logs?

And are they running at the same time of day? (ie manually submitted during business hours vs scheduled overnight?) A change in system workload can make a difference in resources available to the job (although 7 mins to 2 hrs is extreme).

I big one would be to check the RUNPTY vale. Most times the interactive setting may be set to run much faster than batch. The lower the number the more resources it gets. Out interactive users are set at 20 while most batch jobs run around 50.

Is your system using shared pools?

Just schedule the job for those timings when you are running it manually and then check the time taken.
