I just recently had my first gaming rig built (no sadly I didn't build it myself) but didn't even know a lot and still don't know a lot about pc's in general.
I'm running a Ryzen 7 2700 on an Aorus ultra gaming motherboard with 16gb of DDR4 ram and an RTX 2070 gpu.
I'm getting incredibly good performance out of it considering I'm only running stock cooling for the processor and haven't over clocked it but i'm just barely short of being able to run games like pubg and Apex at a stable 144 on ultra settings.
My question is with the new series of amd processors would trading up for a new cpu give me the performance I need to hold a steady 144 fps or should I be looking into liquid cooling so I can overclock or is my gpu holding me back?
I just want the 144hz monitor I got to be used to its full potential but don't want to be downgrading my visual experience just so I can make it happen.
Any advice on the subject would be very helpful as I'm just now getting into pc gaming and this is my first rig that can be classified as anything other than a potato.
Your current system is more than adequate for most games. I would not get to hung up on trying to hit the 144fps. Yes, more fps may be better but how much will you really notice for what the cost to get there may be? Movies only have a 24 fps rate..
