Many ISP are having speed uptp 100 or 50mbps or above too. Are these the speed or anything else? Can we really use 50 mb in a second? Please explain .

YES. You may hit those numbers when streaming videos for example, especially if they are in HD or 4K. They are massive files and the play back would stutter, lag or in general just play lousy if it could not handle that amount of data. Just rip a blu-ray disc to your PC and see how large these files can get.

    Yes, it's easily possible. Now, whether or not such rates are achieved by many of us is a separate issue.

    Downloading files such as updates to the system's OS can almost require decent transfer rates, unless you want to wait all day.

    Nowadays, perhaps the biggest eater of such rates is normal browser usage with all the animated graphics, ads, videos, etc. Try a common dial-up connection just to access pages for this site to get an idea how necessary multi-mega-bit connections are.

    At the first time it may reach its highest speed, but slowly it may come down the speed depending on file size/ network congestion etc. you can use a good speed checker online and check this one.
