Internet speed is slow on multiple devices

Within my Internet package, I'm allowed up to 60 MBPS (speed wise). And I recently checked the speed of my laptop (connected through ethernet port and router) and it was at that range. However, all of my other devices (connected through Wi-Fi) are showing around 20 MBPS. The devices are terribly slow. Sometimes, it's even worse than 20. Is this a router issue? What should I look at here?

No it’s a wi-fi issue. A direct connection will always be better.

The wi-fi signal degrades the further it has to go. Throw in a wall or 2 and even a floor and is gets worse. You can even have dead spots because the signal cannot reach. I have that issue with Comcast/Xfinity. One end of my house has no service. The reason is the router is set up in my home office in the basement. The signal has to go through 1 floor and 2 walls and that kills the  signal.. You can get signal extenders/boosters that will help but I have never tried on to verify.

Also remember the more devices on at the same time makes it slower as well. They will split the bandwidth among all connected devices.

If you actually achieve 20MBPS with multiple devices through a home wireless router, it's plausible that you're doing good. A throughput rate of 54Mbps is common for wireless (and note, 54 Mbps approx = 6 MBPS).
