I have an extra phone jack in my house. I already have a modem and router connected. I am curious as to whether I am able to use this socket to acquire wired internet for a laptop. I see that there are 11 to 45 cords available, so I wonder if this would work.

Thanks. We'll let you know when a new response is added.

For a good article on the process check this one out Go Wired and another option is some simple hardware that uses your existing home electrical system.

If it for a laptop, why do you want it wired? You should be able to connect via the laptops wi-fi. IF the signal won't reach the location in question there are range extenders / signal boosters that will cover more range in the home.

I’ve always had the best connection when using wired, and internet the router drops a lot.

If your Internet access is available through your phone connection, then it's a perfectly viable setup. If you already have another modem/router connected to your phone network, it might take some time to work out conflicts.
