Are you referring to a field defined in the file?  Or are you referring to some other use (relative record number, the target of a move, &c.)?

I will second Splat's question, what are you really wanting to accomplish?  If you are using DDS specs, there is no true integer data type available even though we can define a field as an integer data type in our RPG programs.

Where do you want to use this integer value? you can redefine it using SQL for use elsewhere or are you looking to import it into a spreadsheet? Then you can just reformat the column to show 0 decimal positions. We need more details on where and how you plan on using the final data.

You would use it as an integer value by first defining it as an integer and then... using it (just like you'd use any other data item). Exactly how to specify the definition will depend on whether you need to create a SQL table or a DDS physical file.
