IE11 won’t open in Windows 10 Build 1803

IE 11 worked great until build 1803. Now it won't open - even using Run to launch with extensions off. Have tried the usual resets and reinstall from change windows options without success. Any other known issues that might be affecting it? MS Edge works fine.

Try to open IE11 in this way, open command prompt, (CMD.exe) and type as: "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" -extoff then press Enter key. After few seconds, it will open IE and check if that helps.

Thanks! Going to this path in File Explorer and right clicking to run as Administrator will open IE 11, but that seems to be the only way I can get it to open. Any other suggestions?

Probably this is something permission issue. Check the permissions of the User that you logged in. Or right click IE 11 & select Property > Security (Allow/ Deny). Here, check that, Host name or Login ID has full access. If not, log as administrator and give the full access to this User that you usually Log.

Thanks. Checked permissions and user is there with full permission. Checked the category to open as administrator and now I can open via the icon on my desktop.

This is good and wise tricks. Also you can use Firefox (if you don't mind) instead of IE 11. Chrome is also there, but Chrome runs so many background services that may slow down the system, however tweaking can be possible.

Thanks for the feedback. I am using Edge for most of my browsing, with no issues, but occasionally I run into a site that won't support Edge, and then I need to use IE11 or an alternative. Not impressed with Chrome, so maybe will give Firefox a try. I use RoboForm for passwords, so that is why I have relied on IE11 as it is compatible.
