I received a deleted message from an email with a read receipt from a recipient that I did NOT send the original email to in Outlook. How is this possible?
I recently sent an email (about a week ago) and put on a read receipt. I received a read receipt back shortly but then, about a week later, I received a read receipt from someone who I did NOT send the email to. Ironically enough, it was the same person who manages my email service. Is it possible for someone to configure my personal email to unknowingly send all of my sent emails to their inbox (or something similar)?
I tried that as well; sent a message with a read receipt, and nothing out of the ordinary came back. I am reluctantly beginning to believe your statement is true but I was wondering if, besides the test, is there any other way to prove it? Is there a setting within Outlook that I can validate this assumption? OR, is there ANY other explanation why I would receive a 'deleted' message from a read receipt message from a person other than was on my 'sent to' list?
I did consider that as well. The person I sent the original email to was 100% seperated from the person that I got the deleted 'read receipt' back from. One was business, the other is personal. And the business was a cold contact that I hadn't even spoken to yet (prior to that email of course). And, I also double checked my sent mail to ensure that I did not send it to the person that I received the deleted 'read receipt' back from.

The question is tagged with "Software/Hardware used: Outlook/Exchange". Is it a "personal" account? or a business account for your employer in your name?
If truly "personal", it should be reported to your ISP or to the service provider for your e-mail. If business, it should be reported to your boss.
It is possible at various system admin levels to configure your e-mail to do just about anything desired. I have been directed to do such things a couple of times. When directed, I always required it in memo form.

This is my personal email account. That I personally pay for use on my home computer (and webmail of course).
The email service is run through a company seperate from my ISP. Is there anyway I can verify without checking with my email provider? I also believe they are the ones who are going through my personal emails but I wanted to be able to validate first.

I believe this person has my sent emails all sent to his inbox as well. How can I verify this without him knowing?

I don't think you can. You would need access to the e-mail server.
If you are going to report this, do not report it to this person.
Okay, one more validation.
Is there ANY way me receiving a read receipt from this person for an email I did NOT send to them is legit? Or is the ONLY possible reason because they have my sent (or possibly incoming as well) email forwarded to their inbox as well?

My first guess is that the recipient reported (forwarded) the e-mail as an unsolicited business e-mail (spam). The e-mail item was forwarded as an attachment rather than as in-line text. The admin then deleted the forwarded item at some point.
