HELP! I am trying everything I can to get the lowest ping I can and nothing seems to help.

Purpose: Lower ping in Fortnite
-Connected to the NA-EAST Server (Ohio) (I am located in Indianapolis)
-I can average anywhere from 10ms to 35ms
-I have a friend also living in Indianapolis that are able to achieve 0 ping in-game consistantly; connecting to AWS's Ohio Server) (His SpeedTest results are usually around 10ms)

My ISP [Comcast XFINITY]
-Gigabit Internet
-Speed Test Results: 26ms / 900Mbps DOWN / 25Mbps UP
Nighthawk XR500 Gaming Router [Wired to PC]

Connected to OpenDNS Servers (Connected on both PC & DumaOS)
-Primary: 208.67.222.220
-Seconday: 208.67.220.220 (my ping to these servers are usually between 20ms-33ms) (fastest I could find using DNSBench)

I have been trying to figure this out for about a month now. I have followed almost every YouTube video for tips and nothing seems to work. I have tried using a VPN as if that would be any help? I'm completely lost. I have tried QoS, DNS Servers, Regedit, etc. Any help would be much appreciated. I am open to any additional information needed.

I have a similar issue, l'm getting ready to call Xfinity again.. I swear it's them. Never had issue until I went in the local Xfinity store to complain about a few of their other 'policies'. Now I get lots of lag and other issues. I don't need massive bandwidth for what I do and there is one one device on line at a time, I play Guild Wars 2. I have run speed test when the game is running and get around 2M downloads for a speed test. Exit the game and sometimes it jumps to 28m..Same for a lot of other games. Some say it's related to my hardware (i5 processor with 8g ram and a 4g Nvida video card). I don't think my specs are bad... Even running a game on Steam with really low requirements, my rate drops, ping rates go up and still  get disconnects..Have Xfinity run a line test.. Also they really don't like us using our own modems/routers.  They have dropped support of mine once or twice and forced me to buy another one.

Since 10-35ms isn't a particularly troubling range, it's unlikely that there's anything you can do other than move to somewhere else. You have essentially zero control over the network that you use, and there's probably next to zero chance that any ISP is going to find anything wrong to fix.

If you can't afford a higher quality, faster and (probably) dedicated line, there really are no good options. It just isn't a problem worth addressing. Your equipment has probably little impact on it.
