0x0000008E normally appears to point you to possible driver issue. Did you happen to install something new on the system (printer, camera, etc.)? It’s a possibility a Windows Update installed a “component) that may conflict on your system.
I would attempt to go into Safe Mode w/Networking and review your Add/Remove Programs to see the “install” date of your components. If you execute Windows Update, try to go to the history and review anything that coincides with when you started to have the STOP issues.
